Nine from Manipur clear UPSC exam 2023

The CSE preliminary examination 2023 was conducted on May 28, 2023 while the Mains were conducted on September 15, 16, 17, and 24, 2023.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of the Civil Services Examination 2023 with as many as nine candidates from Manipur clearing the most prestigious examination in the country.

The candidates are Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu who secured the 508 spot, Carolyin Chingthainmawi who secured the 543 spot, Rahul Hijam securing 740 rank, Heikrujam Prasanjeet securing 757 rank, and Syed Sadique who secured the 826 rank.

The remaining candidates from the state are M Molightson Kanshouwa (a Maring) securing 870 rank, Hatchinghoi Haokip who secured the 898 rank, S Christopher (an Aimol) who secured 921 position and Dominic Sominthang Haokip who secured the 994 spot.

The CSE preliminary examination 2023 was conducted on May 28, 2023 while the Mains were conducted on September 15, 16, 17, and 24, 2023. The final personality test/interview round was held in a phase wise manner from January 2 to April 9, 2024.

With the declaration of the results, as many as 1,016 names have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Service Group A and Group B.

Aditya Srivastava, Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the first, second, and third rank respectively.

Among the candidates who have been recommended for appointment, 347 are from General Category, 115 from Economically Weaker Sections, 303 are from OBC, 165 are from SC while 86 are from ST category.

Taking to X, PM Modi congratulated the students who cleared the examination with a post which read, “I congratulate all those who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, 2023. Their hard work, perseverance and dedication has paid off, making the start of a promising career in public service. Their efforts will shape the future of our nation in the times to come. My best wishes to them.”

Zomi Students Federation (ZSF) general headquarters on Tuesday extended their congratulations to all the successful Zo candidates who have been selected in the merit list of the recently announced UPSC (Civil Services), 2023-24 examinations.

ZSF said that they would like to heartily congratulate the successful candidates including Carolyn Chingthianmoi (543), Chingzoukim Tungnung (768), Hatchinghoi Haokip (898) , Christopher Aimol (921) and Dominic Sominthang Haokip (994).

The student body also said that the achievement of the successful candidates is the result of their hard work and dedication which is a source of inspiration and perseverance for the student community and the Zo people in general for which ZSF wishes them all a successful career in the Civil Services.

ASUM congratulates

The Aimol Students’ Union Manipur (ASUM) on Tuesday extended heartiest congratulation to Songthu Christopher, son of Shongthu Khupjalal and Songthu Thiemneining from Aimol Khullen village in Tengnoupal District, who is the lone successful candidate from Aimol community who cleared the Civil Service (Main) Examination, 2023 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

ASUM, in a congratulatory note, said that Christopher’s success proved that ambition blended with rigorous hard work, persistent perseverance and deference to the Almighty is the root of success. It expressed pride over his achievement and accomplishment and wished that the same may be a stepping stone to even greater success and fulfilment.
