In an effort to accelerate and improvise the learning process of students, as many as 36 smartphones were distributed to students of NG College under Chief Minister 's College Maheiroi E-Support Scheme (CMCMESS) on Monday.
Addressing the programme organised by the NG College CMCMESS Selection Committee at NG College in Imphal, principal of the college Ashok RC apprised the students to remember that the phones distributed under the scheme are meant for uses in educational purposes and not for passing time on social media.
Calling on the students to avoid misusing the phones, he warned of initiating action against the student and the college authority, if the phones are found to be sold off or being used by others.
He further reminded the beneficiaires to register their phones in the ‘MOODLE LMS’ of the college. The principal lauded the state government’s efforts to uplift the education sector with the introduction of various schemes and policy programmes.
The principal also announced that an IT Studio will be soon established in the college.
In connection with the programme, IT NIRF nodal officer Th Rockin Singh spoke on the topic ‘MOODLE-LMS and AISHE’, ABC nodal officer M Luwangningthou spoke on the topic, ‘Blended Mode of Learning’.
The programme also witnessed the attendance of vice-principal of the college Sh Shantibala Devi and president of NG College Teachers Association Adibo Newmai as presidium members.
In a similar programme, smart phones were also distributed to students of Presidency College, Motbung under CMCMESS by principal of the college T Gante during a function at the respective college premises on Monday.
