The Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) has urged the education department to take up legal action against the headmaster of Moirang Kampu Sajeb Upper Primary School.

As a part of MSF’s “Eikhoi Lairik Tamsi'' campaign, a team of the federation went on an inspection visit to the said school in ZEO Zone No. 2 of Imphal East district. On inspection the school was found locked and no teachers were present, MSF said in a statement on Tuesday.

MSF said that the fate of the students remains unknown if teachers fail to educate students properly. The team came to know that the teachers were absent since exams concluded and were present only on Monday, it added.

The statement further said that out of the eight teachers in the school one teacher Heisnam Pratima Devi has been in training in Zone office but the remaining teachers failed to attend the school.

The federation said that the “School Fagathansi Mission” has been active only in a few schools and this will lead to impairment to the future of the students.

MSF also mentioned that they will submit a complaint to the ZEO, Imphal East, to take up necessary legal action against the teachers who failed to attend school.
