To strengthen education sector in Manipur, the state cabinet has approved recruitment of 1,140 pre-primary teachers and 500 graduate teachers.
Information and Public Relations Minister S Ranjan informed the media in Imphal on Tuesday that to strengthen the education sector of Manipur, the state cabinet approved for recruitment of 1,140 pre-primary teachers under SSA scheme with 90:10 salary sharing with Centre and state respectively.
Under the Central and state share funding with same salary share, the state government was informed for recruitment of 210 graduate teachers under SSA. However, the state cabinet approved to add 290 graduate teachers more with a total of 500 graduate teachers under Central and state salary share funding with same ratio as that of pre-primary teachers, he added.
The state cabinet also decided to constitute a cell for Banning of Unregulated Deposit Scheme, BUDS. For strengthening this institutional finance, an assistant director and one UDC will be engaged, said Dr Ranjan.
He further said the cabinet meeting also approved to set up an automatic testing station under vehicle scraping policy which is implemented across the country. Under the policy it is mentioned that vehicles should be demolished if the age of the vehicle is 15 years and above, he added.
Machines for scraping of expired vehicles the state government is yet to be established, said IPR minister.
He said the cabinet also approved to rename 15 revenue villages in Jiribam district. Pakhal in Dibong GP, will be renamed as Ningthemkhunjao, Kadamtala as Kadampokpi, Champanagar as Leihaopokpi etc.
Meanwhile, 50 more acres of land will be procured on direct purchase at Sangai Ethnic Park, Moirang Khunpu, with the view to expand and upgrade the park, he added.
The cabinet also has approved re-engagement of service for some employees on the basis of their experiment and requirement.
Executive Engineer, Civil (Retired) T Robindro Singh will be re-engaged as project consultant of the Eklavya Model Residential School, re-engagement of three employees of Taxation Department namely Th Agang Kabui, Th. Brojendro Singh and E Kamal Singh has been approved for six months.
Controller of the Household, Raj Bhawan, E Nilamani, will be reengaged for one year. EE of RD & PR, Kh Rajendro Singh will be engaged as EE, MOBEDS on deputation, the minister added.
The meeting also approved to constitute Kaina Temple Board to look after and manage the affairs of the temple. The cabinet also decided to implement the Vehicle Scraping Policy in the state. Some unlisted agendas were also discussed today in the public interest, said Ranjan.
Responding to media regarding the ongoing indefinite shutdown of all state owned hospitals and health centers in the state, IPR minister the government is taking necessary measures for promotion of grade IV doctors to grade III and most of the issues has already been elaborated on the House recently.
He appealed the doctor’s association to call off the ongoing strike at the earliest.
