The Manipur government on Monday announced that summer vacation for all schools under BOSEM and COHSEM will begin from May 1 and continue till May 31. The decision for early summer vacation has been taken in view of the unprecedented surge in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the state in the wake of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
Commissioner (Education Schools), Government of Manipur, T Ranjit Singh, in an order released on Monday, directed all heads of institutions, all government aided and private schools, affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) should make arrangement for detailing at least four to five staff by making an appropriate daily roster of the said staff (teaching and non teaching) and to ensure their attendance in the institutions and to render unavoidable official duties during the vacation period.
The commissioner further ordered that all concerned authorities of the schools or institution are advised to ensure necessary arrangement or preparations are made for commencement or resumption of online teaching/learning exercise on reopening of classes after the summer vacation or until further orders.
Meanwhile, the COHSEM announced that the Class XI exams has been postponed until further orders. The exam was scheduled to commence from May 5, 2021.
