Manipur: 25 students detained for mass copying in exam

DESAM: Council authorities should investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the invigilator and authorities of the school for allowing mass copying.

Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) detained around 25 students of Sagolmang Higher Secondary School for alleged mass copying on the first day of the ongoing Class XI examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).

DESAM assistant secretary general Thoithoiba Nongthombam told the media at its head office located at Kwakeithel on Sunday that a video clip showing mass copying during examination on April 8 went viral on social media. He said the video was made by one of the students.

In connection with the video, around 25 students of Sagolmang Higher Secondary School, Imphal East, including invigilator and other authority concerned of the said school were detained, he added.

Thoithoiba said the Council authorities should investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the invigilator and authorities of the school for allowing mass copying.

Class XI examination of COHSEM started on April 8 and will conclude on May 6. For the said examination, students have to appear at their respective schools to take the examination.
