Higher Education: Experience sharing programme on national assessment and accreditation

The event at Wangjing in Thoubal district was hosted by YK College under the state project directorate of RUSA Manipur.

An experience sharing programme on National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was conducted on Friday at the conference hall of Yangambam Kumar (YK) College located at Wangjing, Thoubal district.

The event which was hosted by the College under the state project directorate of RUSA Manipur was attended by representatives of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal along with the heads of department from the college who shared experiences on the topic.

Speaking on the occasion, principal of YK College, S Giri expressed his satisfaction on the event being held saying that it is one of the most opportune times. “Such types of sharing programmes will certainly contribute in increasing the level of higher education,” he said.

YK College is yet to be granted NAAC accreditation but it is highly likely to be accredited in the near future while the already accredited Waikhom Mani Girls College is trying for further accreditation.

Meanwhile, a mutual understanding workshop on NAAC accreditation for teachers was also held today at Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal. It was jointly organised by the IQACs of both the college and YK College Wangjing under the sponsorship of the directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur.

During the workshop, discussions were held on the criteria for a college to receive NAAC accreditation. Principal of Waikhom Mani Girls College Thoubal, Th Manao and other teaching staff attended the event.
