Chandel JNV Selected Student’s Guardian Association on Thursday demanded admission for the selected students to JNV, Chandel as the authority of Navodaya Samiti allegedly refused to counter sign the admission forms of the students whose permanent addresses are not from Chandel district.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club in Imphal, secretary of the association, Khumanlambam Shyamo, said that the schooling of their children was done in Chandel and Tengnoupal district and were also selected in the entrance examination of the JNV Chandel.

However, when they approached the DC of Chandel for his counter sign to fill up the form for admission, the Navodaya Samiti refused to give his signature stating, “No admission to JNV Chandel for students of other districts,” he added.
The efforts of the students given in the preparation of the entrance examination will be meaningless if they are not getting admission to the JNV, he said, adding that the children will never have interest to appear in other competitive examinations in their future.
