Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey on Saturday requested all governors and authorities concerned to extend cooperation to the students of Manipur studying outside the state to provide ease of their academic pursuit.
A release issued by Raj Bhavan, Imphal stated that in the aftermath of the ethnic clash on May 3, Manipur has been under turmoil for more than a month and as a precautionary measure the state government clamped curfew in most of the districts, followed by suspension of internet services.
Many students who are pursuing their studies/higher studies/professional courses in different schools/colleges/universities outside the state have been experiencing untold miseries to meet their day-to-day requirements coupled with their academic expenses, it mentioned.
Expressing concern about the welfare of the students, the governor requested all the governors and administrators to extend their cooperation to ensure that the students from Manipur do not face any hardship in their academic pursuits, it added.
