Federal Students’ Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) on Tuesday appealed to the government to take up immediate steps for the admission of the displaced students who are yet to be admitted to any school.

A release issued by FESOK publicity secretary Jehochand Irengbam stated that although the government have stated that the displaced students will be admitted to a nearby school, it also questioned if the government will also felicitate the admission at private schools as well.

Stating that as most of the displaced students had been studying in private schools, it would be best for the students to continue their studies at a private school.

It also questioned if the occupation of the Indian Army at most of the institution campuses will affect the academic experience of the students. The government has yet to take up any concrete steps for the displaced students to continue in higher studies and to appear in competitive examinations, it continued.

“As the displaced families have been deprived of their homes and livelihood, who will provide the means for them to afford school uniforms and textbooks etc? And since most of the students have no means to retrieve their required documents and certificates required for admission, how will their admission process go about,” it questioned.
