Teachers and students of Kakching Khunou College staged a sit-in-protest over the unbearable monetary demands imposed on the college and demanded a disturbance-free education zone on Thursday at its school gate at Umathel in Kakching District.

During the protest organised by the Employees Welfare Association, Secretary of the Association, Dr Longjam Ibochoubi expressed dismay over the unbearable monetary demands resulting in an adverse effect on the academic atmosphere.  

He highlighted that the teachers of the school had been contributing various amounts towards ongoing crises and extending possible assistance to the relief camps. He urged to refrain from such exorbitant monetary demands to educational institutions.
