The College of Agriculture of Central Agriculture University (CAU), Imphal on Tuesday celebrated its 42nd foundation day at the premises of the college at Iroisemba in Imphal West.
Delivering the chief guest speech, MLA Kh Raghumani, who is also the ex-faculty of CAU, lauded the university for having a good linkage with the institutes of SouthEast Asian countries and encouraging study exchange programmes.
He said students and teaching faculties getting such exposures is a great plus point of the varsity as they will be learning new mechanisms with better experience.
“Life cannot be static; it should be dynamic. We should learn to adapt with the new knowledge and technologies as the society is changing,” he added.
Stating that it is the efforts of the founding faculties of the college which have it one of the leading Agriculture colleges in the entire country, he said that the students and the present staff should not forget their efforts and dedication. “We should indeed worship them,” he added.
A book entitled “Scientific Cares and Management of Apis Cerana Himalaya” of the college was also released during the function beside various culture programmes performed by the students of the college.
The function was also attended by dean of the college, Prof Indira Sarangthem as president; director of instruction CAU, Imphal, S Basanta; director of extension education, CAU, Imphal, Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma and dean College of Food Technology, CAU Imphal Ng Iboyaima as guests of honour.
