The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam 2023 amid high tension and chaos following fresh violence in the state's capital Imphal on Thursday.
State Education Minister Th Basantakumar announced the BOSEM HSLC Examination 2023 results at the BOSEM Conference Hall, Imphal in the presence of department officials on Thursday.
No government schools ranked in top 25 position this year. And though there was no government or government aided-school students in the merit list, this year was their best performance in the last 10 years with pass percentage of 66.96 per cent and 81.69 per cent respectively.
This year, the Board recorded an overall pass percentage of 82.82 per cent. The results have been announced on the board’s official websites – manresults.nic.in and bosem.in. The results can be downloaded from the official websites by entering the roll number of the examination candidates.

Altogether, 24,777 students were declared pass. Out of 37870 students that appeared, 18,721 male and 19,149 female took part in the exam.
Of the 38,127 students passed, the exam with the girls outstanding the boys with 56 toppers among 83 toppers in the merit list.
Of the 8065 government school students appearing in the exam, 5401 students passed; out of 1,453 aided schools, 1,187 students passed and out of 28,352 private school students, 24,777 passed. For the government schools, out of 8,065 students, 2,874 students passed in first division, 2,366 in second division and 161 in third division.
This year, Thoubal and Kakching district topped in district-wise passed percentage with 89.61 per cent.
According to official data, 29 students were expelled for impersonation and for use of unfair means and 32 students were kept in withheld this year.
Ratankumar Memorial School, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi secured all the top 3 positions with Yengkhom Pareihanba securing first position; Omega Chanu Wangkhem and Venus Laiphrakpam sharing the second position and Ophelia Chanu Ngangom, Sanchitra Thokchom and Silvia Mutum sharing the third position.
The education minister, while declaring the exam result, said that the government is making all efforts to improve the education system.
The Manipur board 10th class examination was conducted from March 16 to April 3, 2023.
