Rayburn College of Churachandpur has been accredited with a Cumulative Grade point average of 2.96 on a seven-point scale at B++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) under University Grant Commission (UGC).
Valid for five years starting from February 7, 2023, this is the highest grade for all the affiliated colleges in Manipur under Manipur University.
Principal of Rayburn College Khen P Tombing and co-ordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell Siamkhanthang Neihsial, had an interaction with the press on their aims and plans at the office chamber of the Principal where they said that it was a big boost for the college, calling it a collective effort of all stakeholder. They also vowed to get the highest grade of A++ in the coming years.
The elated principal of the Rayburn College said that they are happy as this was the outcome of a single Assessment on their college by NAAC officials that focuses on academic excellence which will go a long way in making the college better in the state of Manipur and beyond.
The Principal also said that for all graduate students of Rayburn College, it's a must to graduate with three skills (apart from their chosen Arts, Science, commerce stream ) which includes Computer skill (compulsory) and others like Painting, Hospitality, Embroidery, etc. He said that they plan to have more vocational courses focused on science and technology, job-oriented courses and others in the coming years.
It may be mentioned that there are two colleges in Churachandpur district with B or more Accreditation by NAAC with the first being Churachandpur Govt college that was accredited with B+ in 2022 (which was the highest then) and with Rayburn College, with more than 1300 student, getting B++ grade is a huge achievement for the district and the state in terms of education with the institution getting better every year in Churachandpur district.
