Applications have been invited for the fourth State Level Media Fellowship Programme on climate change reporting for the period of one year from journalists of Manipur by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Manipur.
The theme of the fellowship programme is “River’s System of Manipur”. The sub theme focus on linkages with Climate Change-related issues on Livelihood, Riverine, catchment, springs, Agriculture, Irrigation, Technology, etc.
The Fellowship Award consists of Rs 50,000 per fellowship in three instalment along with citation. The fellowship can be availed only two times consecutively. Fellows who have received the award twice can, however, apply again after a year break, the department notification stated.
Fellowship will be awarded in four categories across the state. The categories include - Open Category for print media reporter, Open category for electronic media reporter, Women Journalist category for print media reporter, and Hill Journalist category for print media reporter.
Apart from the fellowship award, opportunity during the fellowship period includes Interstate exposure visit and capacity building.
Who can apply for the fellowhip?
Those with not less than one-year experience in journalism and media reporting can apply.
How to apply for the fellowship?
1. Application along with latest CV and two passport size photograph is to be submitted to the Joint Director, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, Porompat, Imphal on or before March 31, 2023.
2. The application should also enclose a letter of endorsement from the Editor mentioning that the output under the fellowship programme will be published/telecast in the concerned newspaper/electronic media.
All fellowship must agree to abide by the rules, regulations and procedure taken up by the concerned authority, stated the notification signed T Brajakumar Singh, Joint Director and Principal Investigator, State Climate Change Cell, Manipur.
