The Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL), the apex body of the Tangkhul headman body, on Thursday lauded the district healthcare workers for their services rendered to the district populace amid the pandemic.
In a release, TNWL general secretary Kaphaoleng Angkang stated that healthcare workers have been so far religiously performing their tasks beyond the call of duty since the beginning of the pandemic, so that no lives are cut short for want of timely intervention as the people continue to grapple with the pandemic.
Their advocacy missions to reach the unreached remote villages educating and informing the masses are well appreciated, he stated.
Appealing to every eligible population of the district to get vaccinated, he maintained that the pandemic has destabilised every walks of lives. He further appealed to the people who have not taken the vaccination to get vaccinated so that normal life is restored and the looming threat posed by the disease is prevented.
It continued that timely vaccination will go a long way towards ensuring hassle free activities on all fronts.
The apex headman body has urged healthcare workers to refrain from random vaccination drives before educating the people first through wider advocacy, so that various notions doing rounds in the minds of the people are cleared and their fear attached with the jab is addressed.
TNWL also urged district administration not to let vaccination disturb free flow of government incentives and schemes just because someone had not taken the jab.
“The body would in no way allow vaccination to decide the aid being provided by the government under various categories for the welfare of the people,” it added.
