COVID-vaccination drive under the theme 'Tikka Utsav ' was held at District Hospital Churachandpur on Sunday.
The programme was launched in the district by additional DC S Khaikhopau Ngaihte in the presence of Dr Romeo Sinate and additional medical superintendent of the district hospital, Dr Zamthianlal Valte.
The COVID-19 vaccination drive for people above 45 years of age will be held on April 11-14 in the district. So far 14,097 people got vaccinated in Churachandpur district.
The chief guest of the programme, Khaikhopau Ngaihte said that there are seven cold chain in the district where the vaccines are stored in different compartments. He appealed to the people to spread the message of the importance of vaccination to fight COVID-19.
"Advocacy is very important, so let us all be an agent of speading the need of vaccination in this 'Tikka Utsav', which is literally translated as vaccine festival," said Dr Romeo and Dr Zamthianla.
