Special COVID-19 vaccination drive for PWD in Churachandpur

The special vaccination drive for PWDs was organised by district administration, Churachandpur in collaboration with People Advanced in Social Services (PASS) and Social Human Action for Rural Empowerment (SHARE) Society.

A ‘two-day special vaccination drive for persons with disabilities of 18 years and above’ was launched at PASS campus at New Mata, Churachandpur on Monday.

The special vaccination drive for PWD was organised by district administration, Churachandpur in collaboration with People Advanced in Social Services (PASS) and Social Human Action for Rural Empowerment (SHARE) Society.

On the first day of the vaccination programme, PWD were provided with free transportation in order to cover more people. A total of 85 individuals including able-bodied persons were vaccinated. The drive covered individuals residing at Mata village, D Phailian, Mualkot, Saipum, New Zou Veng, Sehken, D Leikot, Tangnuam, Buallian, Bisanmual, S Bualkot village, Emmanuel Khopi, Vengnuam New Lamka, Kanaan Veng, Headqaurter Veng, and Hill Town of Churachandpur.

Meanwhile, the Young Paite Association (YPA) GHQ led by its president T Khailianthang provided monetary aid to 14 COVID Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) in the town area of Churachandpur district on Monday.

The YPA president said that a small amount of Rs 2,000 each have been provided to the 14 CHICs. Earlier, YPA-GHQ had arranged for a dedicated ambulance for transportation of people who are in urgent need of COVID-19 testing, he added.

Several action committees on prevention of COVID-19 expressed their gratitude to the initiative taken by YPA-GHQ during the critical days of the pandemic.
