Sikkim's COVID-19 death toll rises to 493

COVID-19 claimed one more life in Sikkim and the current death ratio recorded is 1.12 per cent as on Thursday.

Sikkim's COVID-19 death toll has reached 493 as one more patient succumbed to the disease and the state's death ratio recorded last was 1.12 per cent, as per the latest update by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.

Sikkim was the only state in Northeast India which reported COVID-19 death as on Thursday.

Sikkim today has 90 COVID-19 active cases with the report of 26 more positive cases. The state's active ratio stood at 0.21 per cent and the cumulative confirmed caseload reached 43,860, including 43,277 total recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.67 per cent.

Meanwhile, 6281 new positive cases pushed the country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload to 4,44,76,056 and the death toll mounted to 5,28,090 with 19 more fatalities as on Thursday, according to the updated data by the ministry.

The cumulative active caseload dropped to 47,762, while 4,39,00,204 people have recovered from the disease till date.

The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination coverage taly reached 2,14,27,81,911, while 88,83,94,283 total samples have been tested so far.
