With five fresh COVID-19 cases reported on Monday in Nagaland, the total tally of positive cases in the state has risen to 123.
According to the health department, three cases of COVID-19 from Kohima and two from Dimapur were reported this morning. Since eight of them have recovered from the disease, the total number of active cases in the state stands at 115.
Meanwhile, the state government is planning to test over 800 samples for COVID-19 per day. At present, around 170 samples are being tested on a daily basis.
“Once all Truenat machines are installed, we can test at least 820 samples per day,” said state government spokesperson for COVID-19 Mmhonlumo Kikon on Monday. He said that seven Truenat machines have arrived in the state while 15 more are coming this week.
Meanwhile, the state government of Nagaland has claimed that it had spent over Rs 24 crore to assist the stranded people of the state in different ways.
Mmhonlumo Kikon also said that since the beginning of the COVID-19 issue the state government has been assisting the stranded people in different manners.
“From the very beginning, the State government has been taking the challenge of supporting students and working citizens outside Nagaland to look into the issues they have raised,” he added.
Kikon then said that there are 238 quarantine centres across the state accommodating over 13,000 (13,000) beds.
