Mizoram recorded 243 new COVID-19 cases and one more fatality from Saitual, pushing the state's tally and death toll to 2,34,387 and 712 respectively, official sources said.
According to the latest data shared by the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), the new positive cases include 75 from Aizawl, 51 from Lunglei, 28 from Champhai, 22 from Khawzawl, 15 each from Lawngtlai, Mamit, Saitual, 12 from Serchhip, seven from Kolasib, and three from Hnahthial.
No new recovery was recorded and the cumulative number of recovered cases remained 2,32,461 while the number of active cases rose to 1,214, the DIPR stated.
Among the active cases, Aizawl has the highest number at 304, followed by Lunglei with 313 and Mamit with 100. There are 96 active cases in Khawzawl, 80 in Champhai, 75 in Lawngtlai, 71 in Serchhip, 69 in Kolasib, 55 in Saitual, 29 in Siaha, and 22 in Hnahthial as of Tuesday.
