Manipur's COVID-19 tally surges to 1,37,190 with five new positive cases

There are 51 COVID-19 active cases in Manipur as of Saturday.

Manipur on Saturday recorded five new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,37,190 while the death toll remained at 2,120 with zero new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 2.1 per cent.

According to a release issued by the State COVID-19 Common Control Room, of the five COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday, two cases were reported from Chandel and one case each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching.

The state also reported three new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,35,019. The recovery rate is 98.42 per cent. Manipur now has 51 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 120 oxygen cylinders and 18 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 28,11,502 (first dose: 15,49,661 second dose: 11,91,893 precautionary dose: 69,948).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.61 per cent and for the second dose is 50.91 per cent, it mentioned.
