Manipur on Sunday reported three more deaths due to COVID-19, including the first COVID victim in Tamenglong. With it, the state’s death toll due to the viral infection has risen to 74, while the total confirmed cases climbed to 11,855 with 206 new positive cases, official sources said.
Of the three COVID-19 victims, two are women - 74-year-old from Imphal West and 54-year-old from Kakching. The victim from Tamenglong was a 94-year-old man, a 5 pm release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new COVID-19 positive cases detected in a span of 24 hours included six personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Of the general new cases, Imphal West recorded as high as 76 new positive cases, while 55 are from Imphal East, 18 from Thoubal, 13 from Noney, six each from Kangpokpi and Bishnupur, five from Tamenglong, four each from Senapati, Chuirachandpur and Kakching, and three each from Jiribam, Tengnoupal and Chandel, according to the release.
All the new positive cases are locals without any significant travel history and have been shifted to Covid Care facilities. Contact tracing and other necessary containment measures are in place, the release stated.
Meanwhile, 124 more patients have been discharged after they were found COVOD-19 free on RT-PCR test. With it, the cumulative number of recovered cases has risen to 9205. The recovery rate is 77.64 per cent. And, the total COVID-19 confirmed cases included 2576, includinf 324 personnel fo the Central security forces, the release added.

"If you were in contact with a positive person, isolate immediately. Contact Covid control room or CMO for testing. Together we can break the COVID chain," the health department stated.
The public can also avail online teleconsultation by government doctors from home between 10 am and 3 pm every day except Sunday by downloading ‘eSanjeevaniOPD’ app at Google Play Store or by visiting the website ‘www.esanjeevani.opd.in’.
