Manipur's active COVID-19 tally rises to three

A 21-year-old male from Kangpokpi district but presently staying at Checkon, Imphal East, was found positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Manipur on Monday reported one new COVID-19 positive case, pushing the state's active tally to three, official sources said.

The latest update by the state Health Services on Saturday showed 56 samples test were conducted and of it, the result of one came COVID-19 positive. The infected case is reported from Imphal East district.

According to the Health department, a 21-year-old male from Kangpokpi district but presently staying at Checkon, Imphal East, was found positive for the infection. Necessary containment measures have been taken up, it said.

With the new Covid-19 positive case, the state's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,39,927, while the death toll remained unmoved at 2149 with no report of COVID-19 death for the last several months.

The state positivity rate now stood at 1.8 per cent. So far, 16,70,906 samples have been tested in the state.

On April 2, no new doses of COVID-19 were administered. So far, the total Covid-19 doses administered reached 3269105, according to the state immunization officer. Till date, a total of 137775 people reported recovered from the disease in the state. And the recovery rate is 98.46 per cent.
