Manipur reports 17 new COVID-19 positive cases, tally surges to 1,25,778

The COVID-19 death toll in Manipur remained at 2,002 with zero fatality on Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday recorded 17 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,778 while the death toll remained at 2,002 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.4 per cent.

According to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room, five new COVID-19 cases were reported each from Imphal West and Imphal East, another four cases each from Jiribam, two from Thoubal and one from Churachandpur. 

The state also recorded 12 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,586. The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent. Manipur now has 190 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 310 D-type oxygen cylinders and 31 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 23,10,302 (first dose: 13,23,253 second dose: 9,87,049). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 56.53 per cent and for the second dose is 42.16  per cent, it mentioned.
