Manipur reports 16 new COVID-19 positive cases, tally climbs to 1,37,007

Six new COVID-19 cases each were reported from Imphal West, another three cases from Imphal East, two each from Bisnhupur and Thoubal and one each from Kakching, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong.

Manipur on Monday recorded 16 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,37,007 while the death toll remained at 2,118 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.7 per cent.

According to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room, six new COVID-19 cases each were reported from Imphal West, another three cases from Imphal East, two each from Bisnhupur and Thoubal and one each from Kakching, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong.

The state also recorded three new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,779. The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent. Manipur now has 110 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 285 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 99 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 27,51,592 (first dose: 15,22,759 second dose: 11,65,676 precautionary dose: 63,157).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.32 per cent and for the second dose is 49.79 per cent, it mentioned.
