The district administration, Imphal West, Directorate of Health Services and 13 civil voluntary organisations and student bodies of Meitei-Pangal (Muslim) community on Wednesday resolved to work collectively for speeding up COVID-19 vaccination among the Muslim community of the district.
It was resolved during a meeting cum orientation programme on mass COVID-19 vaccination among Meitel-Pangal community of Imphal West district organised under the aegis of district administration, Imphal West in collaboration with the directorate of Health Services at DC office complex, Lamphel, Imphal.
The meeting resolved to create public awareness on vaccination through involvement of local civil bodies, religious leaders and others, thereby setting an example for mass vaccine adoption.
It also resolved to make a scientific approach towards vaccination and take up a collective fight and counter any false information against vaccination on social media.
Subject experts of the state government officials deliberated at length on the ongoing mass vaccination programme being undertaken in the state. The meeting which was chaired by Imphal West DC Th Kirankumar acknowledged the participation of the civil bodies and appealed to them for a collective approach in future vaccination programmes.
The 13 civil bodies and students bodies are All Manipur Muslim Organization Co-ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC); Jamiat-ul-Ulema, Manipur; All Manipur Meitei Pangal Welfare Organization (AMMPWA); Manipur Muslim Welfare Organization (MMWO); All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC); United Manipur Muslim Womens' Development Organization (UMMWDO); All Manipur Muslim Womens' Development Organization (AMMWDO); All Manipur Muslim Doctors and Medical Students Association (AMMDMSA); Muslim Advocates and Legal Service Association (MALSO); All Manipur Muslim Students Organization (AMMSO); Pangal Students Organization (PSO); All Meitei Pangal Students Union Manipur (AMPSUM) and Writers Forum Manipur (WFM).
