The Manipur government on Thursday announced partial modification to the January 6 COVID-19 protocol for both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons with travel history entering the state with immediate effect.

The new notification stated that unvaccinated persons or persons who have received only one dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed entry into the state only on mandatory production of COVID-19 negative test reports (RT-PCR or TrueNat or CB-NAAT or RAT) taken within 72 hours before their arrival in the state.

However, persons who are fully vaccinated (that is received two doses) with COVID-19 vaccine will be permitted to enter the state on production of the vaccination certificate at the entry points of the state, the notification added.

The modification in the protocol has been issued in pursuance of the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry's instructions issued on January 15, the state Health department said in a release signed by Soiminlian Lengen, deputy secretary, Manipur Health and Family Welfare department.
