Manipur COVID-19 tally reached 7,579 on Friday as 109 more people tested positive for the viral infection, 101 from general public and eight personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). The cumulative numbers of recovered cases and active cases are 6002 and 1533 respectively, the state health department said.
Of the 101 cases from general population, 59 are from Imphal West, three from Kaching, two from Tengnoupal, one from Chandel, 15 from Imphal East, four from Churachandpur, two from Bishnupur, 12 from Thoubal, two from Ukhrul and one from Kangpokpi. Three new patients are returnees from other states and the rest are locals with no travel history.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place and the new patients have been shifted to respective COVID Care facilities, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang) Additional Director and spokesperson, Health Department, Manipur stated in a release.
The release from COVID-19 Common Control room stated there was no report of death in the past 24 hours. The cumulative number of deaths remains 44. The recovery rate moved to 79.19 per cent.
