Manipur COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 6.5 pc

Manipur now has 2747 COVID-19 active cases as its daily positive tally drops below 200 cases.

Manipur on Sunday witnessed continued fall in daily COVID-19 positivity rate to 6.5 pc, according to the latest update by the state health department.

The state on Sunday recorded 195 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,17,094 while the death toll mounted to 1,811 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department.

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday are from Imphal West, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated that of the two fatalities, one person had co-morbidities and one was vaccinated with first dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 102 and 41 positive cases respectively. Eleven cases were reported  from Thoubal, nine from Chandel, seven from Ukhrul, five from Churachandpur, four from Bishnupur, three each from Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, Senapati and Tamenglong, two from Tengnoupal and one each from Kakching and Noney. 

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 293, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,12,536.

The recovery rate is 96.11 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 2,747 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,369 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  237 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 15,93,856 (first dose: 12,00,549 and second dose: 3,93,307).

According to the release, there are 504 vacant general beds and 101 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 42 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 20 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 29 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds. 

In Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 41 vacant general beds and 30 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 80 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 184 vacant general beds and 23 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 65 general beds and nine ICU/HDU, it mentioned
