Maharashtra's COVID-19 active caseload drops to 17,281

COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 66,18,347, while the death toll mounted to 1,40,403 in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra, which has the highest number of confirmed caseload among all states and Union Territories in India, has been witnessing a downtrend in active cases and on Tuesday, it recorded a total of 17,281 active cases.

While the state today has the second highest active caseload in the country with more cases being reported in Kerala, its COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 66,18,347 and its death toll mounted to 1,40,403, with the report of 15 more deaths across the state, the Union Health Ministry said.

The state’s total number of recoveries climbed to 49,14,993, as 6,136 more patients recovered, as per the latest update by the ministry.

Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 71,938 today, while its total confirmed cases rose to 50,20,909, the second highest in the country. The state’s death toll mounted to 33,978, as 262 more patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department.
