India’s single-day COVID-19 positive caseload dropped to 83,876 in the last 24 hours, taking the total active caseload to 11,08,938. Consequently, COVID-19 active cases stood at 2.62 per cent of the total COVID-19 confirmed caseload, as per the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.
The country’s total confirmed caseload reached 4,22,72,014, while the death toll climbed to 5,02,874, as the disease claimed 895 more lives in the last 24 hours.
Kerala continued to report the highest COVID-19 active caseload of 3,30,105, followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with 1,22,015 and 1,21,828 active cases respectively.
The recovery rate stood at 96.19 per cent as 1,99,054 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the increase to total recoveries to 4,06,60,202.
The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,56,363 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 74.15 Cr (74,15,61,587) cumulative tests.
While the testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 9.18% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 7.25%.
So far, 74.15 crore total tests have been conducted so far as 11,56,363 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
A total of 169.63 crore vaccine doses (1,69,63,80,755) have been administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, with the administration of more than 14.70 lakh doses (14,70,053) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, as per provisional reports till 7 am on Monday.
The cumulative number of precaution dose administered across the country so far is 1,48,90,677, as per the ministry's updates.
