India's active COVID-19 caseload drops to 36,168, lowest in 675 days

India reported only 2,503 new cases in the last 24 hours, making it lowest in 680 days so far, the Health Ministry stated.

India’s COVID-19 active caseload on Monday dropped to 36,168, lowest in 675 days, after 4,377 more patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 active cases constitute 0.08 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

A total of 4,24,41,449 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered in India and the recovery rate is 98.72 per cent as of Monday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry. 

In a significant development, India reported only 2,503 new cases in the last 24 hours, making it lowest in 680 days so far, the Health Ministry stated.

India has so far conducted 77,90,52,383 COVID-19 tests, including 5,32,232 conducted in the last 24 hours. The country's cumulative number of confirmed COVD-19 cases reached 4,29,93,494, of which 5,15,877 patients have died. 

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 1,80,19,45,779 as per provisional reports till 7 am Monday.
