India COVID-19 update on Saturday by the Health deparment showed 22,270 new positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours, while 175.03 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

With the addition of the new positive cases, India's COVID-19 active caseload stood at 2,53,739, which accounts for 0.59 per cent of the total confirmed cases reported in the country. Consequently, the daily positivity rate fell to 1.80 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 2.50 per cent.
The country's confirmed COVID-19 positive caseload reached 4,28,02,505, while the death toll mounted to 5,11,230 with 325 more fatalities.

The recovery rate moved to 98.21 per cent, as 60,298 new recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries across the country to 4,20,37,536 as of Saturday.
Meanwhile, 75.81crore total tests have been conducted so far, as 12,35,471tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The ministry stated in a release that more than 172.04 crore (1,72,04,92,970) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 11.17Cr (11,17,10,731) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. AS many as 1,87,00,141 total precaution dose have been administered so far.
