India recorded 547 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am Tuesday.

The number of active cases stands at 9,468 on Tuesday. Active cases constitute 0.2 per cent of the country's total positive cases, according to the Health Ministry website.

The death toll climbed to 5,30,532 while the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country reached 4,46,66,924.

The cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,41,26,924 with 3,385 new recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.79 per cent as on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,80,22,159, as per the ministry.
