India COVID-19 Update: 3,230 new cases, 32 more deaths

The number of active cases dropped to 42,358 from Monday's 43,415. Active cases constitute 0.10 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

India logged 3,230 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's tally to 4,45,75,473, while the death toll surged to5,28,562 with 32 more fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

The number of active cases dropped to 42,358 from Monday's 43,415. Active cases constitute 0.10 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

India also recorded  4,255 new COVID-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 4,40,04,553 and the recovery rate is 98.72 per cent as on Tuesday.

As many as 89,40,93,560 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in India, including 2,74,755 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.58 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 1.18 per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,17,82,43,967, including 20,56,76,978 precaution doses.
