India COVID-19 active caseload drops to 1,47,512

India recorded 14,830 new COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths on Tuesday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

India on Tuesday recorded 14,830 new COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths, pushing the country's tally to 4,39,20,451 and the death toll to 5,26,110, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The 36 COVID-19 fatalities include seven each from Kerala and West Bengal, six from Maharashtra, three from Gujarat, two each from Delhi and Punjab, and one each from Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

A total of 4,26,102 COVID-19 tests were conducted in India in the last 24 hours. India has so far conducted 87,31,85,917 COVID-19 cases.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.48 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.53 per cent, as per the latest update.

The country also recorded 18,159 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of recovered cases to 4,32,46,829. India's recovery rate currently stood at 98.47 per cent.

Consequently, India's COVID-19 active caseload dropped to 1,47,512 on Tuesday from Monday's 1,50,877.

As many as 2,02,50,57,717 Covid vaccine doses, including 7,57,90,708 precautionary doses, have been administered in India under the COVID-19 vaccination drive, according to the latest update.
