India continues to witness fall in daily COVID-19 positive cases

A total of 8,055 more patients recovered and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now 4,24,06,150. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stood at 98.68 per cent on Tuesday.

India continued to record fall in single-day COVID-19 positive count with the report of 3,993 new cases, while 108 more died of the disease in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

As per the latest official updates, the new positive cases pushed India’s COVID-19 active caseload to 49,948. The active cases constituted 0.12 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Tripura in Northeast has only 9 Covid-19 active cases as of Tuesday, lowest across Northeast states.

The country's death toll climbed to 5,15,210, while the Covid-19 confirmed caseload reached 4,29,71,308.

A total of 8,055 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now 4,24,06,150. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stood at 98.68 per cent on Tuesday.

The testing capacity across the country continued to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 8,73,395 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 77.43 Cr (77,43,10,567) cumulative tests, the ministry stated.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the weekly and daily positivity rates in the country stood at 0.68 per cent and 0.46 per cent respectively.

With the administration of more than 21.34 lakh (21,34,463) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 179.13 Cr (1,79,13,41,295) as per provisional reports till 7 am Tuesday. As many as 2,07,66,549 people have been administered precaution dose, as per the updates by the ministry.

Meanwhile, over 180.14 crore (1,80,14,60,200) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the governement of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 15.49 Cr (15,49,85,231) balance and unutilised COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry stated.
