Manipur on Saturday reported highest single-day COVID-19 recovery as 1,057 persons were discharged while the disease claimed four more lives, taking the death toll in the state to 168. The victims are from Thoubal, Imphal West, Imphal East and Tamenglong, the state health department said.
Positive cases: In all, 230 new COVID-19 positive cases, including 13 security personnel, were reported on Saturday, pushing the cumulative number of positive cases in the state to 18,502. Of it, 15,743 are general population and 2,759 are Central Security Personnel.
Recovered cases: The cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases is 14,862, including 12,420 general population and 2,442 Central security personnel. With it, the recovery rate is 80.32 per cent.
Active cases: A cumulative 3,472 COVID-19 patients, including 3,159 general population and 313 Central security personnel remain active cases.
The positive cases from the general population are 80 from Imphal West, 31 from Imphal East, 10 from Thoubal, two each from Chandel, Tengnoupal and Kangpokpi, seven from Noney, 13 from Kamjong, five from Ukhrul, eight from Bishnupur, seven from Kakching, three from Senapati, 15 from Churachandpur, 31 from Tamenglong and one from Jiribam, as per the latest updates by the COVID-19 Common Control Room in Imphal.
All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, a release from the control room stated.
