The Manipur government on Thursday announced that precaution dose vaccinations for 18 plus population will be made available in all government CVCs from Friday onwards for a period of 75 days free of cost.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh will officially launch the precaution dose at the CM’s secretariat in Imphal.
Joint director/SIO, Family Welfare Services, Manipur Dr T Manihar Singh in a statement said all those who have crossed six months from the date of second dose vaccination are eligible for precaution dose.

The statement further stated that all districts have been requested to make necessary arrangements and start the precaution dose vaccination of 18 plus population from Friday, it stated.
The memorandum is issued as per direction from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, it added.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr S Ranjan Singh appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination in support of the fight against the pandemic.
The COVID-19 cases have been surging for the past one week in the state despite the fact that it fell to zero for some days, said Ranjan.

The minister further said that the problem of vaccine hesitancy still exists in the state. The state government used all-possible efforts to enhance the vaccination rate even by reaching out through the mechanism of doorstep service.
The state’s announcement comes in the wake of continued surge in positive cases. As many as 77 persons including 42 males and 42 females tested positive on Thursday taking the cumulative number of positive cases in the state to 1,37,690. The recovery rate stands at 98.23. However, there is no report of Covid fatality.
Of the total positive cases recorded on Thursday 12 are from Imphal East, 46 in Imphal West, 3 each in Thoubal, Chandel, and Bishnupur; one each in Senapati and Churachandpur, and 2 each in Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, and 4 in Kakching.
In all, 25 persons were discharged, including 19 from Home Isolation, 2 in RIMS, one in JNIMS, and three in Shija Hospitals.
