Assam has reported 230 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the tally to 2,473 confirmed cases, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Of the total 2,473 COVID-19 positive cases, 1,878 patients remain active as 588 others have been cured and discharged from hospital while four patients have died and three others have migrated to other states, till Saturday, the minister said.
Kamrup Metro records the highest COVID-19 cases in the state with 413 positive cases so far, followed by Dhubri at 259 and Golaghat at 209, according to official data.
The first COVID-19 case in the state was reported on March 31. Since then the number has been growing and today, Assam is the worst hit by the Coronavirus in the Northeast region with over 100 new positive cases being reported from different parts of the state daily.
