COVID-19 death toll in Assam crossed the 1000-mark, with two more persons being reported dead, while the total caseload surged to 21,4657 as 73 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, official sources said.
The death toll now stood at 1,002 and the fatality rate is 0.46 per cent, according to an update by the state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The state's positivity rate is 0.63 per cent, Sarma said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, 117 more patients recovered from the infection on Sunday, taking the number of recovered cases to 2,14,657. The state's recovery rate as on Sunday was 97.91 per cent.
There are 3,481 active cases in Assam, while three patients have migrated to other states, the state health minister said.
