Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Topon Kumar Gogoi has tested positive for the second time on Friday, reports said.

The Jorhat Lok Sabha MP was to participate in the election rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Chabua on Saturday, according to the reports.

The 52-year-old parliamentarian tested positive at a screening centre at Sonari in Upper Assam, the reports added.

The BJP MP had tested positive for COVID-19 in March, 2020 and was administered plasma at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati.
