The Manipur government on Friday ordered adhering to the COVID Appropriate Behaviour, especially the wearing of masks in public places as the state's tally reached 29,230.
Chief secretary Rajesh Kumar stated that, "It has been observed that there is report of laxity in observance and enforcement of the COVID Appropriate Behaviour and SOP especially wearing of mask both by public functionaries and general public" and urged all to adhere to the COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
Five more persons from the general population tested positive for the viral infection in a span of 24 hours, a release issued by the COVID-19 common control room stated.
The new cases included two from Churachandpur, and one each from Imphal West, Ukhrul and Thoubal. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
While the death toll remained at 373 for the 12th consecutive day on Friday, the cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 28,772 with three more recoveries.
The active caseload in the state is 85 and the recovery rate reached 98.43 per cent, the release stated.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old Anganwadi worker of Kumbi Terakhong in Bishnupur district died a week after COVID vaccination.
"She was complaining of rashes and fever. The cause of death will be known after autopsy," the state health department said.
COVID-19 Vaccination Drive
A total of 38,484 beneficiaries have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur, of which 2,751 people were vaccinated on Thursday.
The total number of healthcare workers vaccinated till date is 28,863, the state health department said. No severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation till date. There were 46 mild reactions who were on home care, however, all of them have fully recovered, the state health department added.
