With a new positive case found at Jiribam quarantine centre on Friday, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tamenglong district has increased to 19. The patient hails from Longchai village of Tamenglong district.
Of the 19, two cases have been cured and released from the Covid Care Facility at RIMS, Imphal.
The district task force has collected as many as 197 samples from the quarantine inmates. The number of quarantine inmates has also risen to 887 on Friday.
At least, 42 persons were placed under home quarantine today. Test results received from the state are 129 till the time of filling of this report.
Meanwhile, Chaengdai Students' Union has donated 200 pieces of masks along with local made dustbins for proper disposal of wastes to the Tamenglong community quarantine centres. The donated materials were handed over to deputy commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame on Friday.
In Noney district, seven persons have been tested positive of COVID-19 today. The number of COVID -19 positive cases in the district has also risen to 19, out of which one person has been cured and discharged from the Covid Care Facility of RIMS.
Five inmates tested positive from Khangsilung Higher Secondary School, Khoupum while one inmate who was accommodated at Kids Glory School, Khoupum also tested positive. They were shifted to the Covid care facility centre at UNACCO school, Imphal by an ambulance.
Another female inmate from Tengkonjang ST Girls Hostel Institutional Quarantine Centre has also tested COVID -19 positive on Friday.
