The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur reached 16,276, including 2,686 Central Security personnel, as a total of 214 more people were confirmed new COVID-19 positive cases, while three more deaths pushed the death toll to 124 on Wednesday.
A total of 208 new cases from the general population and six personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, a 5 pm release from the state Covid-19 Common Control Room stated.
It stated that the three victims included a 70-year-old female from Thoubal, 60-year-old female from Tengnoupal and a 50 year-old male from Thoubal. All three reported dead at Shija Hospital.
The positive cases from the general population are 35 from Imphal West, 55 from Imphal East, 20 from Thoubal, three from Ukhrul, two from Noney, eight from Chandel, three from Kangpokpi, four from Kakching, 34 from Tamenglong, 10 from Churachandpur, four from Tengnoupal, six from Senapati and 24 from Bishnupur, the release stated.
All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
In all, 138 new recoveries were noted on Wednesday. With it, the cumulative number of recovered cases is 12,197, including general population 9,838 and Central security personnel -2,359. The recovery rate is 74.93 per cent.
The number of active cases is 3,955, including general population - 3632 and Central security personnel -323.
