2,060 new COVID-19 cases detected in India

The number of active cases stands at 26,834 on Monday. Active cases constitute 0.6 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

India recorded 2,060 new COVID-19 cases and 10  deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.

The number of active cases stands at 26,834 on Monday. Active cases constitute 0.6 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 5,28,905, while the cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,40,75,149 with 1,841 new recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.75 per cent as on Monday.

As many as 89,86,99,680 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in India, including 1,10,863 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.02 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 1.86per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,19,33,43,651, including 21,86,50,160 precaution doses.
