Irabot Foundation Manipur in association with Kakching District Irabot Foundation Manipur conducted a plantation campaign of saplings including lemon, orange, banana and dragon fruit under the theme ‘Pukei Chonhanlo Loumee’ at Yangkheinithoi Maril situated near Wabagai Pole star in Kakching District on Sunday.
The tree sapling plantation campaign was spearheaded by president of Irabot Foundation Manipur Kh Gopen Luwang in presence of Kaching Branch president Elangbam Somorendro and secretary Ningombam Yaima among others.
Speaking on the sidelines, Kh Gopen highlighted the detrimental impact of climate change stemming from deforestation on human society. He also pointed out that the construction of houses in Imphal city violating the bylaws has had an adverse effect on society.
He further urged the public to refrain from such activities contributing to climate change.
