Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), along with its dealer partner - Punya Toyota, on Friday announced the donation of a brand-new Toyota Hilux, a lifestyle utility vehicle, to the Second World War Imphal Campaign Foundation, as a part of the social contribution.
The Hilux will be utilised by the foundation to continue their research activity of historic relevance, by enabling access to the toughest terrains and deep rough roads of northeastern parts, the company said in a press release.
Towards this noble cause, TKM and Punya Toyota jointly handed over the vehicle key of Toyota Hilux to the authorities of Second World War Imphal Campaign Foundation during an official gathering at the Punya dealership in Imphal.
The Second World War Imphal Campaign Foundation was founded in the year 2013 with their activity, primarily, involved in the study of the battle of Imphal and Kohima, keeping the history alive, and to collect the remains of Japanese soldiers. The Foundation has been supporting the Government of Manipur to manage the “Indian Peace Memorial”.
“We are strongly driven by Toyota’s principles of giving back to the society by working towards harmonious, scalable community development through various initiatives," Andy Mangsatabam, Dealer Principal, Punya Toyota, said.
“Through this donation drive, we are doing our bit to pay our respect to the soldiers, and the organization’s meaningful initiatives. Under the given landscape and road conditions of the region, the iconic Hilux will greatly help to continue the foundation’s ongoing research without any disruptions".
Varinder Wadhwa, General Manager Associate, Strategic Business Unit, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said “The bravery, spirit and enthusiasm of the armed forces and any tribute to this valour and devotion is not enough... we hope our Hilux donation would further strongly help the organization to enhance their research work for the betterment of the society".
