With the effort to propagate financial education messages to the public under the theme “Good Financial Behaviour, Your Saviour”, the RBI, Imphal on Monday launched the Financial Literacy Week, 2023.
Flagging off a marathon “Run for Financial Literacy” organised in association with the Athletic Association of Manipur by DGP, Manipur, P Doungel, who was the chief guest of the programme from the RBI, Imphal office at Thangmeiband, Imphal West marked the opening ceremony of the literacy week.
According to the RBI, the marathon was organised considering Manipur being one of the leading states in the field of sports and it is a benefitting medium for spreading the message of financial literacy.
Posters on the literacy week were also released by the dignitaries present during the programme which includes Doungel; Imphal West DC Th Kirankumar; GM and OIC of RBI, Imphal, Thotngam Jamang, among others.
This year the literacy week focuses on saving, planning, budgeting and prudent use of digital financial service which aligns with overall strategic objectives of the National Strategy for Financial Education 2020-25.
As a continuation of the programme, the RBI is also planning to centralise mass media campaigns during the month of February to broadcast financial awareness messages on the theme.
